Tights Care Guide

Hosiery uses fine, stretchable fibers and should be handled gently. Always follow the care instructions on the product label when they differ from this general guide.

How to put on tights

  1. Remove rings or other sharp jewelry and smooth any rough nails before handling the fabric.
  2. Sit down and gather one leg of the tights from the waistband to the toe.
  3. Place your toes inside, position the heel, and ease the fabric gradually over the ankle and calf.
  4. Repeat on the other leg, then gently work both sides upward in small sections.
  5. Adjust the waistband and fabric evenly. Do not pull forcefully from the waistband or one small area.

Washing instructions

  • Hand wash separately in cold water.
  • Use a small amount of mild detergent.
  • Do not bleach.
  • Do not rub, twist, or wring.
  • Do not tumble dry.
  • Do not dry clean.
  • Dry in the shade away from direct sunlight and high heat.

If machine washing is necessary

Hand washing is preferred. If the product label permits machine washing, place the item in a closed hosiery or laundry bag, use a cold delicate cycle, and wash only with similar lightweight garments. Keep it away from zippers, hooks, denim, towels, and other rough items.

Drying and storage

  • Press out excess water gently without twisting.
  • Lay flat or hang carefully in the shade.
  • Make sure the item is fully dry before storing.
  • Fold loosely and store away from sharp objects, rough surfaces, and hook-and-loop fasteners.

Snag prevention

Avoid contact with rough shoes, broken nails, jewelry, furniture edges, and abrasive surfaces. Put tights on slowly and make small, even adjustments rather than pulling hard in one place.
